Week 2 - More Farmers, More Produce!

On behalf of the local farmers, thank you to everyone who came to the farmers’ market opening day. The farmers and producers were astonished by the crowd (one seasoned farmer said it was his “best day ever”) and have promised to bring you more produce this coming week. It is our goal to serve you well, and we ask for your patience as we work out the market “kinks”. It was a joy to see such a broad spectrum of the community – young and old, families, friends and neighbors, all out greeting each other and enjoying the availability of fresh, local produce.

This Saturday, May 30, we will have two additional farmers selling at the market, Birchrun Hills Farm and Spice of Life. Chester County-based Birchrun Hills will be providing cow cheeses, fresh eggs and humanely-raised meat. If you haven’t tasted fresh eggs before, this is your chance. Spice of Life is a gluten-free baker – and we’re sure their baked goods will be tasty even if you are not following a gluten-free diet.

We’ll again have face-painting for children, some live music to enjoy, and we’re working on a strawberry pie-eating contest. See you Saturday!
