We're Still Growing!

Its week 3 for the Bryn Mawr Farmers Market – and we are thrilled to have another producer joining us tomorrow. Herbal Springs Farmstead, a family farm located in Lancaster County, will be selling plants, flowers and herbs, as well as vinegars and jams made with fruit grown on the farm. More farmers are still to come - later this month we will be joined by a Malvern poultry farm providing chicken and eggs, as well as an apiary (beekeeper/honey producer) from right here in Bryn Mawr.

We hope you have enjoyed the non-profit organizations that have had tables at the market. Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the Lower Merion Conservancy, Main Line Animal Rescue, and the Friends of Linwood Park have all participated thus far. This weekend Ludington Library will be setting up a table with “green” books. If you are involved with an area non-profit organization that would like to be represented at the market, please let us know - this helps the market serve our community.

And speaking of community, a HUGE thank you is owed to the local businesses who donated items for our opening day. Via Bellisima, Puns, Arrowroot and Katye K, thank you so much for your leadership, spirit and support. And to all of you - please patronize our local small businesses throughout Lower Merion and help them thrive. If you are an on-line shopper (and who isn't?) think about what you can instead buy locally. This reduces oil consumption from shipping, reduces packaging waste – and our local businesses will thank you.

Hope to see you on Saturday!

Laura & Molly
