Cozy Ideas for a Chilly Weekend

Brrrr - is it winter already? Bring an umbrella and warm coat for market day tomorrow - our farmers are hardy souls and will be waiting for you despite the weather. Here are a few ideas to cozy up this chilly weekend.

Fall's produce make delicious soups that will surely warm you up; we love Leek & Potato and Butternut Squash. You can make a double batch and freeze one for a busy weeknight later. Add a salad and some crusty bread with cheese and your meal is set. We've also been hearing about a new cookbook, Love Soup, that just might help us get through the cold winter that is predicted.

AndyB will be back tomorrow with his delicous desserts to make you smile no matter what it looks like outside. He's bringing his Apple Pie, an unusal Concord Grape Pie, a Pumpkin Maple Pie, a Pear and Raspberry Galette, his delicious cookies and more.

After shopping at the market take your kids over to the Bryn Mawr Film Insitute. They will be showing Babe, surely one of the best movies depicting life on a farm, at 11:00 am, adult tickets are $5, tickets for kids are $4. The Handwork Studio will be there as well with a special free Halloween cape-making workshop.

Hope to see you Saturday!
