Opening Day ... and a Mother's Day Recipe

Opening Day is here! To tantalize your taste buds, here is a bit more information on the farmers/producers and what they will be bringing to the market this SATURDAY, MAY 8th. Don't forget that best selection is during the market's earlier hours, while the best deals come at the end of the day (last year there were some two for one specials for example just before closing at 2 pm).

At the market this weekend:

Wimer's Organics - eggs, snap peas, green beans, red beets, salad greens (lettuce, arugula, Wimer's spring mix), cooking greens (baby boc choy, swiss chard, dandelion, kale) radishes, cucumbers, herbs, potted plants

Livengood's Family Farm - strawberries, rhubarb, lettuce and salad greens, spring onions

Two Gander Farm - honey, Asian mix salad greens as well as spring mix, storage potatoes and sweet potatoes, plant seedlings, eggs

John & Kira's Chocolates - An assortment of their beautiful boxes of specialty chocolates. The perfect hostess gift!

ShellBark Hollow Farm - goat's milk food products including milk, yogurt and kefir, several varieties of chevre including their delicious honey biscuit chevre

Hails Family Farm - whole, lowfat and nonfat cow's milk, yogurt, cheeses

Birchrun Hills Farm - award-winning cheeses, beef and pork

Amaranth Bakery - gluten-free baked goods

Herbal Springs Farmstead - annuals and perennials, baked goods, jams & jellies, grassfed beef
