The Bryn Mawr Farmers Market is open with new season hours this Saturday April 30 - 9am - 1pm.
And mark your calendars for the Opening Day Celebration next weekend Saturday May 7th.

The spring season has begun and farmers have delicious salad greens and spring veggies on hand for a taste of what warm weather brings to the Philadelphia area!

Join your Main Line neighbors for a shopping treat and consider the following salad using produce available from our market:

Radish and Arugula Salad

1 - 2 oranges or other citrus like tangerines
2 Tbsp finely chopped radishes plus 12 large radishes very thinly sliced
1 Tbsp chopped red onion plus 1/2 cup thinly sliced [soak cut onions to dilute their intensity]
1 Tbsp lemon juice plus 2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
salt [kosher recommended] and pepper to taste
1 medium fennel bulb, quartered and sliced [leave out if you dont like fennel]
3 cups packed arugula
1/4 cup coarsely chopped mint

Cut peel away from oranges and slice the fruit and set aside.

Combine chopped radishes, chopped red onion, lemon juice in small bowl. Let stand 5 mins..
Whisk in olive oil. Season to taste with Salt and pepper.

Combine orange slices, radish slices, onion slices, fennel slices, arugula leaves and chopped mint in salad bowl. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
Drizzle Dressing over salad and toss to coat thoroughly.

Adapted from Bon Appetit. Serves 6 as a first course.
